Bluesky and the AT protocol seem like an interesting alternative at first glance but the more I read into it the more hesitant I get
It just seems like it's going to be de facto centralized like matrix where if you need discoverablity you need to send your soul to matrix.org
Also using DNS for anything reminds me of DANE and its shambling corpse that people try to prop up
