"We have old buildings" is to Europeans for AC what "we live far apart" is to Americans for public transit.

@nicholas i don't know because one day the computer was working and after that it randomly died, I don't think that was caused by bad QA but despite doing electrical engineering work and going to university for electrical engineering i barely understand extremely complex circuits clueless

Their customer support was not the best but IMO their QA has been largely good, and when they make mistakes they acknowledge them pretty quickly

@Inginsub cheaper SSDs also usually don't have DRAM caches which can make sustained read/write speeds insanely slow though I heard that there was some way to mitigate that

One of these days I will have a fully functional framework laptop again; in its current form the keyboard is entirely dead because I think I broke the cable but I'm getting that replaced, but from what I remember before I broke the cable being an idiot the keyboard has a whole bunch of dead keys probably from whatever killed the first motherboard I had

The C people don't want you to know this, but the main reason why reading from NULL is prohibited is because it makes a pretty good random number generator. So good, in fact, that it falls under the US prohibited exports list because even the NSA couldn't backdoor it.

Silicon valley hasn't done anything worthwhile since like 2010 everything since is basically just avoiding regulations that they see as obsolete and then figuring out why those regulations exist the hard way
