@7666 MBAs and consultants are a big problem. Also, if you're publicly traded in the US, it's common dogma that doing anything other than directly benefitting the shareholders is illegal (see Dodge Brothers v. Ford). A lot of it is also greed and rent seeking because it's a lot easier to extract value out of something than make something brand new worthwhile
