If there's one class of people that deserve more hate it isn't the cyclists or the Jews or whatever other conspiracy shite exists: it's the consultants

The reason why many things are the way they are is some McKinsey MBA said so and they obviously know what they're saying the work for McKinsey

@bajax I don't have a USB-PD meter like device so I can't say exactly what it is doing but that is my guess based on others who had the same problem and had the equipment to see

@icst the laptop I bought was the first gen AMD laptop so I knew I was going to be a beta tester.
To Framework's credit they were very transparent on the firmware bug on their end and the fix was out a month after it was first reported

@bajax It supports the standard USB-PD 5/9/15/20 volt increments, the framework forum suggested the computer asks for too much current at a low voltage which makes the adapter scream and give up. The smaller one used to do that too now just works.

I looked at the OEM charger and it can't even pull more than 3A ever while the larger one can pull 5A at 20V

So new BIOS updates have made my Framework laptop work with my smaller GaN charging brick! But it doesn't work with my larger one still.
You're this close USB-C, you can almost be the be-all-end-all standard for charging

@vertka @waifu Your worst enemy in most social scenarios is yourself, most people won't even think of double texting as a thing unless they're really shallow or already don't like you

JavaScript has its use cases

Looking at COBOL learning that statements end in the . character just feels wrong
Though the term for a line missing that character is called a "pregnant line"
... because there is no period

@mint pg_repack was one of the last things I did before cranking up the timeout and runs on the DB monthly. This migration looks interesting, I might try it myself soon-ish.

pg_repack is great because it can run without bringing postgres down completely, same thing with my backup solution pgbackrest. Makes backups simple.

@mint Thank you, this will probably help. The solution I found after debugging it was Meilisearch was working as it should but the database query afterwards kept timing out after 15 seconds so I just got rid of the timeout and it works now, just extremely slow since it's search every post this instance has seen since before I died in 2023.
I could purge the last 3 years of shit from my DB but I don't want to

After an hour of fighting I give up, UnifiedPush, you win. I have absolutely no idea why it does not work because there are 0 errors. sweetrelease
