@hitlerswaifu I mean HTTP headers. I can pass command line arguments as well, and I can even do it (configure things) through Apache/Nginx so I don't have to implement my command line arguments manually

@hitlerswaifu You mean stdout... lol, you do with CGI. Apache/Nginx basically executes the program and takes the output, you can pass headers and stuff as well.

@hitlerswaifu Because that's retarded and introduces a whole new interface. CGI is like a standard for web application as UNIX is to computing. Most people nowadays use reverse proxies but I don't like those

@hitlerswaifu No, nginx is a mess and has no proper CGI support, which is a backbone of a lot of the old and good days of the internet. It's default modules are broken and don't work with paths, usually requiring wscgi in the middle of it.
Apache on the other hand supports CGI and FCGI out of the box in it's own proxy modules, and has good documentation on it as well
